How do I start using HotSpot?
Getting started is easy! Download the HotSpot app on your smartphone from the App Store or GooglePlay. Create an account or proceed as guest, add your vehicle and payment method, enter the meter/locations number where you're parked, select your parking duration, and you're ready to park! Do I need to create an account?
No. HotSpot offers a guest parking option, so you can pay without creating an account. Creating an account is optional and gives you added convenience for managing vehicles, payment details, and parking history.
How do I pay for parking with HotSpot?
Enter the zone number where you’re parked, select the duration, and confirm payment.
What payment methods are accepted?
HotSpot accepts major credit and debit cards through secure in-app payments
How do I change my credit card on file?
1. Press the hamburger icon.
2. Press Manage My Account.
3. Press Add/Manage Funds.
4. To add a credit card, press Add Card and follow the instructions to add a card.
5. If you have more than one credit card, you can select Default for the card you want to use.
6. To remove a credit card, press Remove under the tile for the card you want removed.
Can I extend my parking session?
Yes, you can extend your session directly from the app, if local parking rules allow it.
Do I get a refund if I don't use all my parking time?
No. Once your parking session starts, the full amount is charged and unused time is non-refundable. Please make sure to select only the amount of parking time you plan to use.
How do I find the correct meter/location number?
Location numbers appear on the front and back of meters and paystations, in addition to overhead signs.
Does HotSpot show available parking spots?
No, HotSpot does not currently provide real-time parking availability in San Francisco. It is used to pay for parking in designated areas.
What happens if I enter the wrong zone/location?
You should double-check the zone before confirming. If you make a mistake, contact support as soon as possible.
Can I manage multiple vehicles?
Yes, you can add and switch between multiple vehicles in your account.
How do I add vehicles to my account?
Parking enforcement is based on plate numbers, so you need to add your vehicle to your account.

Some points to ponder before you start adding your vehicle:
- If you drive more than one vehicle, we recommend that you add all vehicles you might park with. For example, if you have two vehicles in your household and might drive the other vehicle, even on a random day, you’ll save time and possibly a ticket if you add both vehicles now.
- If you rent a car and park with it, either with your permit or street-side parking, we recommend that you add the rental vehicle’s plate.
- If you add more than one vehicle, you can make one of the vehicles the default vehicle.  

Adding Your Vehicle on your HotSpot Mobile App:
- Open the app and click on the icon in the upper left hand corner.
- Press Manage My Vehicles.
- Press Add Vehicle.
- Enter your vehicle’s details.
- Press Add Vehicle.

Adding Your Vehicle using the HotSpot Web Dashboard:
- Open a browser window.
- Go to https://www.hotspotparking.io and click Login.
- Login with your account information.
- Click the Vehicles tab.
- Enter the information and hit Save.
- Enter your vehicle’s details in the right panel, and click Save Vehicle.
Can I park multiple cars at one time on one HotSpot account?
You can add multiple cars to your HotSpot account but can only park one car at a time per each account. If you have more than one car on your account, ensure that the Parking screen on the mobile app shows the license plate for the car you are trying to park. If it is not correct, please change it. Parking enforcement is based on plate numbers.
Can I view my parking history and receipts?
Yes, all your past sessions and receipts are available in the app.
How do I access my transactions receipts?
In the HotSpot mobile app:
1. Press the hamburger icon.
2. Press Manage My Account.
3. Press History.
4. Press the transaction for which you want a receipt.
5. Press Email Receipt, and then Okay.

On the HotSpot website:
1. Log into your account at hotspotparking.io.
2. In the Transactions section, select the date range for transactions you want to access.
3. For each receipt you want to print, click the printer icon in the Email column.

The receipts are emailed to the email address that is associated with your account.
Will I get reminders before my parking expires?
Yes, the app can send notifications so you don’t forget to extend your session.
What if I get a ticket while using HotSpot?
If you believe you received a ticket in error, follow the instructions on the ticket to dispute it. You can use your HotSpot receipt as proof.
Are parking rules different when using HotSpot?
No. All posted parking regulations still apply, including time limits and restrictions.
What should I do if the app isn't working?
Try restarting the app or checking your internet connection. If issues persist, contact HotSpot support.
How do I contact customer support?

What are the advantages in using HotSpot to pay for parking?

Can I still use parking meters?
Yes. HotSpot is an additional option. You can choose to pay via the app or at the meter where available.
